Welcome note from Organizing Secretary

The APPICON 2021 will be useful for Physiologist looking to make the most of their careers, from staying updated on current Physiological issues to searching for research collaboration in their areas of interest. If you work in Physiology / Pharmacology or in an organization that supports or relies on the work that takes place in Physiology & Pharmacology departments, then it’s APPICON you won’t want to miss. Looking into the theme of the conference ‘Confluence of Health Sciences’ you can anticipate a wide range of Expert Speakers during each of these three-day sessions. Academicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, stalwarts in the field of Physiology & Pharmacology can exchange their unique insights as they discuss the latest in all things having to do with the digital aspect of healthcare.

This time, APPICON will be available in hybrid mode (both physical and virtual modes) with a theme ‘Confluence of Health Sciences’. APPICON-2021 will be organized from 14th to 16th April, 2022 with a day of pre-conference workshops (13th April, 2022). The conference will comprise of the usual elements of APPICONs with enhanced emphasis on free paper and poster presentation by the members of the APPI, in addition to Plenary lectures & Invited guest lectures, APPI Orations, UG, PG Prizes and Symposiums & Panel discussions. It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to participate in the Conference and associated workshops.

Apart from the academic activities in three days conference, there will be a variety of Indian classical cultural events under the aegis of “Legacy of Arts in Value Education” to entertain and enthrall the delegates. Renowned Kathak dancer and Padma Shri Awardee Smt. Shovana Narayan and acclaimed Sitar exponent Pt. Shubhendra Rao who is disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar is going to perform on 14th and 15th April evening before gala dinner.As a place, Faridabad has many nearby places to visit and for attending various cultural activities.



About ESIC Medical Collge and Hospita

The conference venue, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, which is in the heart of the Faridabad city, is a ‘state of art institute’ with high-tech and luxurious facilities. ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad (under the ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India) depicts an enormous potential in providing top-class healthcare facilities and performing cutting-edge research. During the current pandemic time, this hospital became the epicenter of Haryana in taking care of COVID-19 patients. The Medical College was started in 2015 and till date two batches of undergraduate students have successfully received MBBS degree. MD & MS has already been started in 17 branches and applied for in 6 more branches. DM & MCh courses in 7 disciplines are going to be started from upcoming academic year. PhD program will also be started from current academic session in 10 discipline including Clinical Physiology, Neurophysiology, MCH, Clinical trial and many advance branches of modern Medicine.



Department of Physiology and Pharmacology

Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at ESIC Medical College, Faridabad, has contributed immensely in patient healthcare and research during COVID 19 pandemic including Phase II/III COVID-19 Vaccine trials and many other COVID drug trials. All COVID Vaccine trials (COVAXIN, SPUTNIK, SPUTNIK Light, CORBEVAX adult, Pediatrics, Booster, Intranasal COVID Vaccine) were conducted under supervision of Dept of Physiology as Principal Investigator. Physiology department received funds from various national and international funding agencies including ICMR, DBT, CSIR, AYUSH, WHO, FIND, university of oxford and many private funding agencies for national and international multidisciplinary multicentre research project. A state of art molecular lab was established under direct supervision and control of Physiology department at the start of COVID pandemic. Since then it has processed more than 4 lakhs RT-PCR samples from Faridabad and neighboring districts.

  • • Air: Nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi which is 31 KM away from ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad.

Places to Interest
1.Badkhal Lake:

This is located in Badkhal village, 8 km from Delhi Border. The lake fringed by Aravalli hills is a man-made embankment. The lake complex spreads over 40 acres. In the winter season, this place is infested with migratory birds.

   
2.Prehistoric Stone Age site:

Archaeologists discovered cave paintings and tools from the Paleolithic period in the Mangar Bani hill forest, which is on the outskirts of Faridabad. The cave paintings are estimated to be one lac years old. These are believed to be the largest in the Indian subcontinent and possibly the world’s oldest.

   
3.Raja Nahar Singh Palace:

This beautifully maintained palace of the legendary Raja Nahar Singh dates back to the 18th century AD. The beauty of the palace continues to charm the visitors. The palace is a heritage property. Visitors can relax in the well-decorated rooms along with other facilities available here.

   
4.Anandpur Bandh:

The Anang Dam, situated about 2 kms. south-west of Surajkund is ascribed to Anangpal of Tomar dynasty of eleventh century AD. Its length is 101.2 metres. The steps of stairs are made of ashlar block stone laid in lime but in appearance they resemble the rubble core.

   
5.Dhyankaksh:

the school of equanimity and even-sightedness: Recognizing the architectural exquisiteness and spiritual significance of Dhyankaksh, also known as School of Equanimity and EvenSightedness, the Tourism Department of the Govt. of Haryana has included it in the list of tourist spots of Faridabad. The picturesque “Dhyankaksh” is situated in the Vasundhara campus of the Satyug Darshan Trust, village Bhopani – Lalpur Road, Greater Faridabad.

   
6.Taj Mahal:

On a happier note, we would like to inform you that the exquisite Taj Mahal is only 200km away from Faridabad.
